Taking a look at some popular online travel agents is a good start. It will allow you to quickly identify those hotels that have the types of facilities and amenities that you require. You’ll also get a better idea as to the location of many hotels.
Is this all that you need to do? Sadly not! You should bear in mind that online travel agents will generally be interested in making hotels and resorts sound as good as possible. That means that they may fail to mention some of the negatives.
This means that you should also seek out some independent reviews. The advantage of an independent review is that it will tell you much more about what it’s really like to stay in a particular hotel. Don’t pay too much attention to one single review, but do try to gain an overview as to what you might expect.
Fortunately, some travel agents are happy to list such reviews on their websites. Alpha Rooms are a good example of a company who have chosen to take this approach. They clearly see it as being in the best interests of their customers to be fully informed.
